THE OLD BARN SITE

A development of twelve new houses in the open countryside for a small property development company.

My client acquired a former agricultural and leisure site in the Kent countryside, outside the development boundary of the adjacent town of Sevenoaks.  The site did not have the benefit of planning permission and the local council were initially resistant to the principle of re-development.

Proposals were developed for the construction of ten new houses, refurbishment and extension of and abandoned and dilapidated Grade II Listed farmhouse, the conversion of a Grade II Listed Oast House and the conversion of a Grade II Listed Barn.

The proposals received an enthusiastic response from the local conservation officer and this was the key to eventually obtaining planning permission.
